The Djerdap gorge, one of the most beautiful in Europe
Within the long-term project Danube basin pollution reduction – "Danube’s regional project", which is being realized in cooperation with UNDP/GEF, program of financial help for NGOs is also being realized, and its major goal is strengthening the public participation in decision making regarding the environment and activities of community on pollution reduction.
Within the Program of financial help for NGOs on national level, REC office in Serbia & Montenegro supported 7 projects of NGOs that deal with environmental issues in the Danube basin, the theme being reduction of toxic substances (Association of Young Researchers from Bor, Danube environmental forum of SCG from Belgrade, Expert network from Aleksinac, Center of social initiative – CEDI from Smederevo, Association for natural food "Terra’s" from Subotica, Green network of Vojvodina from Novi Sad and Association of friends of river Tara from Zabljak).
